Bowling

Bowling

Bowling is learning the art of balance

It is the yoga of the moving ball

The ultimate challenge of standing on one foot

while your torso teeters.

hap

haz

ard

ly

from

side

to side.

When bowling the young

learn the art of prayer.

“Please let the pins fall."

"Please let the pins fall!

“Just a little more to the right,"

they say as they teeter

just a little bit.

From bowling,

one learns that life has it shares of

ups and downs.

Some balls fall in the gutter

and some sail

straight

down

the

middle

like a rocket,

all the pins fall

except

the last on either side.

That’s when the fun begins.

When you’re a bowler it’s all about

positioning.

Posture is everything.

distributing your weight

right to left

left to right

Learning just how to get

that special little bounce

down the lane,

like skipping heavy rocks

Life is a river when you’re a bowler.

Bowling is life in miniature

The cup is half full

The pins are half down

The ball is

halfway down

the lane

as well

You are always a winner

even when no pins fall!

Keep your eye on those pins

And your feet in every bowler's

secret weapon,

bowling shoes

in their shades of tan and green,

when you wear them you will fly!

and remember

Life is good,

the lanes are always polished

and

there is always a turn to spare

when you’re a bowler😀

Thanks to my most special bowling pals today.
