This is a post for the final words of Torah that we will read on Simchat Torah next week.

_____________________________________________________________________________

V'Zot Habracha. And This is the Blessing. How fitting a title for this, the final parasha of the year; a parasha of blessings, endings and yet, potential.

Isn't it interesting when at the conclusion of a book, after the final words have been recorded, there is a blank section to the bottom of the page? A page of clear white, exposing the small expanse not yet written. Is that open space giving us time to digest what we have read after immersing ourselves in the story or is it an invitation to us to write the next chapter? Is it an ending or a new beginning?

We are finishing the Torah early next week. Perhaps some Torah scrolls show the space following those final words, while others do not. But let us view that piece of unwritten page and begin to imagine what that blank page might become? In our imaginations, where dreams live, how might this space be filled?

In our continuing story will the story be one of peace? A story of renewal? Will a new story begin or are we so jaded that we can no longer imagine such a thing as a new beginning?

The page is yet to be written. It still stands waiting for what comes next. We can pray that this uncluttered open space, this next page; following the ending, will be one of fullness, goodness, prosperity, respect, growth, quiet and peace.

We can hope.

V'zot HaBracha. For this is the blessing.

I have given this blank space thought.

I think it is for us to determine how we

Will continue our lives. Spend some time learning, with family and friends.

Take care of our health and be mindful of those around us.

Thank you for giving the blank space some thought. I agree with you that it is up to the individual to consider the answer. Learning, family and friends are sound and meaningful choices. All the best.

Holding our breath in the cautiously potentionally hopeful yet painful resolution. Ending the chapter ;beginning anew. Waiting for the breath of relief.
